About Kapila
I am a technology professional with over 20 years of experience in engineering and cybersecurity, dedicated to helping the next generation of learners master the tools of the modern cloud. I hold an MSc in Computer Science and a Bachelor's in Engineering, and my career has been defined by building, securing, and optimizing large-scale systems for global organizations.
I specialize in bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world industry application. My professional background is supported by certifications as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and a Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate (LFCA), alongside advanced training in SANS SEC401 and the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. Whether it’s automating infrastructure with Python or managing complex cloud environments, I focus on the high-impact skills that are actually used in the field today.
I am a resident of Calgary and a passionate hiker and traveler. I bring that same spirit of exploration to my teaching—I am a lifelong learner who is constantly updating my skills in areas like Generative AI and cloud-native security.
