About Will
Hello! My name is Will, I am a postgraduate student in my fifth year of reading Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge. I'm good at exams! I achieved 13 A*s (8-9s) at GCSE, 5 As at AS level and 4 A*s (Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry) at A level, and I would love to pass on my knowledge, tips and tricks and help you smash yours too.
I remember how difficult school can be, and know much the quality of teaching can vary in the state sector. I would love to help you through any topics that you have been struggling with, help you consolidate key modules and help you prepare for your upcoming exams in the most effective way. Doing well in these subjects is a sure-fire way to get onto the university course you are applying for and set yourself up for life. In my lessons I offer:

• Interactive problem based learning: Come with your brain switched on and ready to answer some questions.

Who my lessons are for:
I offer both A-Level and GCSE Biology tutoring and University Admissions guidance for Veterinary Medicine and Allied Subjects.
In my A-Level and GCSE Biology tutoring lessons I tailor my teaching to the individual needs of each student with a completely customisable package to help work with your level of ability and stage of education to get the most out of our sessions. In short, our aim together is to guide you through as much of the course as need be. Following an assessment session (working with teacher notes and any QLA data from your school) to identify areas where we can boost your confidence and maximise your grades, I can take you through every aspect of the curriculum, whether that be starting with consolidating the core concepts of key modules or taking you right the way through to mark scheme & specification focused preparation in the leadup to exams and the final touches of exam technique and advice. I teach all ages and ability levels, and although I find the sweet spot for lesson timing to be around 50 minutes to an hour, I offer customisable packages closer to exam time to make sure you are ready when it counts!
In my Veterinary Medicine admissions package I look to take you through everything you will need for university: this means application guidance, personal statement preparation and Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) preparation, but also everything in-between: Applications logistics (UCAS guidance), how to make the most of your work experience and what to focus on and when in the run up to admissions season. I received offers from Cambridge, the RVC and Liverpool and having almost completed my Veterinary Course I am in a fantastic position to focus our sessions on understanding exactly what the Universities are looking for and how we can ace every step of the application process.
My teaching style:
After 5 years at Cambridge I have received a lot of teaching in my life, from lessons to lectures to small group teaching to the world class 1 on 1 tutoring at Oxbridge known as 'Supervisions'. From paying careful attention to teaching methodology throughout my course and from my tutoring experience with MyTutor I have distilled down my teaching approach into what I know WORKS. These sessions are about you and making sure you have every confidence in yourself come exam day. There are no silly answers and nothing wrong with getting it wrong - believe it or not I was by no means always top of my class at school. I want to take you through past paper focused questions (because examiners like to copy last year's homework but change it just enough so the teacher doesn't notice!) so that you know EXACTLY why what you are learning is relevant to you for your exams, and then build in additional bits of knowledge to help you shine in essays, interviews and beyond.
