About Michael
I am a tutor of English Language and English Literature, at both GCSE and A Level, having studied literature at Cambridge university. I have been Head of English at a number of schools and have over 25 years of extensive experience in both teaching and tutoring.

Initial free 30 minute introductory session, then one hour lessons. I will ask to see examples of student's work, ideally before the introductory session, so I can diagnose where the student needs to make progress. Then I will tailor sessions to teach specific techniques which I know work from my 25+ years teaching to help them progress and set independent work for them to practice the skill before the next session. I am positive and nurturing in approach, with a good sense of humour, but I will also expect commitment and progress from the student!
I have a Cambridge MA degree in English, and have been Head of English in both maintained and independent schools. I teach both British and international students.
