About Eszter
I am a third year medical student at University of Cambridge with first class exam marks in every subject. I have been through the medical admission process to UK universities myself and had the BMAT results in the highest percentiles. With my experience I can help you achieve the same in the test and excel at your interview!
Having a younger sister, I obtained the skills necessary for good teaching at a young age while helping her in homework. I started official tutoring in Secondary School preparing a student for German language exam who eventually obtained the C1 certificate. Later I proved to be talented in science and started teaching General Science to an interested 7-year-old. During my A levels I helped a girl struggling with Chemistry for her final exams and eventually she managed to get into UCL. At unversity I started tutoring a talented boy in Chemistry who made it to the team for the International Chemistry Tournament and now we are working on his admission to medical school!
Having participated in many small group teaching sessions myself at university I have a good understanding of what helps the most to get 100% ready for the exam or interview and from what exercises students benefit the most.

I offer lessons to students preparing for Biology and Chemistry A levels or applying to Medicine, Veterinary Medicine or Biological Natural Sciences.
Having been through many exams, tests and interviews myself I believe in problem based learning. This teaching style focuses on you actively using knowledge you acquire at my classes or at school as well as obtaining skills necessary to figure out the solution yourself when you don't know the answer. This way we can figure out what topics you are less confident in and armor you with the best preparation so that you feel ready when you enter the exam room!
I have been teaching people with very different personalities and recognize that everyone prefers a different style, therefore we always start with discussing these preferences (amount of homework, the topics you find hardest, the goals you want to achieve, etc.).
Below you find some details about specifically preparing for BMAT/ A levels / interviews.

In case of BMAT preparation my plan is doing practice tests (not only past papers, if you want to save them for self study) and going through the difficult parts together at class. We then discuss any unclear concepts in detail so you never make the mistake again.
I would mark your essays and give you a detailed feedback on how to improve it even more! I studied ethics at university and just finished a course on animal rights so I can give you reliable advice on important topics that come up so often in BMAT essays.
For A level preparation upon request I could do a systematic review on the whole syllabus or talk you through the topics you find hard. We would put great emphasis on practising so by the time the exams come you have it all at your fingertips!
Interviews are a very important part of getting into Oxbridge or medical school. I offer preparation sessions and mock interviews for yout to be the best you can be on the big day! As a medical student I can prepare you for questions related to the medical profession (such as what makes a good doctor, situation judgement questions or ethics topics) but we would also cover topics in basic anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, neuroscience and pathology.
Being really interested in research myself, we can discuss up to date topics in science to really amaze your interviewers!

Eszter has been my study partner for 6 years. She is truly passionate about life sciences and medicine and it is fun to learn together with her.
