About Indi
I am a recent graduate from Harrow School and Durham University, one of the best universities in the world for English Literature, where I achieved a high 1st Class degree. Starting this year, I will be studying for a Master's degree in English Literature at Cambridge University. My essays, short stories, and poems have won a number of prizes, including: The Jonathan Head Barrow Creative Writing Competition, The Robert Lloyd Henderson Prize for English Literature, and The St Helier Prize for English Literature.
I grew up in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, before living on a sailing catamaran for eighteen months, traveling from Turkey to the Caribbean, and settling down in the British Virgin Islands. From there, I moved to the UK to study at Harrow. The wide range of experiences that I have had have created a natural curiosity that I have found best satisfied through literature, and that I hope to share with my students.

I aim to teach students the skills required to write fantastic essays and creative pieces, rather than forcing them to memorise model essays. I hope to instil or develop an ability to think critically, to organise their thoughts, and to deliver them--in writing and verbally--with confidence. I run engaging lessons, tailored to individual students' needs. A typical lesson entails: critical discussion of a book or short story, a collaborative introduction to a given topic (for instance, poetry analysis or persuasive writing), and exercises in the focus area. My lessons are most often one hour long, once or twice per week. I have over five years of tutoring experience, working with long-term students as well as running summer schools for English, focusing on entrance examinations for top secondary schools, and debating seminars for primary school students.

Indi is so passionate and excited about English Literature, that it makes me excited about it too! He has such a relaxed and kind manner, but still motivated me to get the work done. I love the way he sees all the things I'm doing well, but also (kindly) points out areas where I can improve, and instructs me on how I do this. He's the best teacher I've ever had!
