About Shane
I am a Canadian long-term supply teacher with several years of experience working daily in a public high school setting, including throughout the COVID lockdown period. I have taught a wide range of subjects and supported students with diverse academic needs. I also spent two seasons teaching at the Miramichi Youth Centre, working with incarcerated youth in complex situations. I am reliable, professional, patient, and committed to creating a respectful, supportive learning environment for every student.

My lessons are calm, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on understanding rather than memorization. I work with high school students in English, Science/Biology, History, and Grade 9–10 Math, adapting each session to the student’s needs and learning style. I am especially effective with students who feel overwhelmed, disengaged, or lacking confidence. I explain concepts clearly, help with organization and study strategies, and aim to build confidence so students feel capable and supported.

I offer a free 1-hour introductory session to ensure a good fit and to understand the student’s needs. Ongoing lessons are $45 per hour, conducted online. Sessions are structured, supportive, and tailored to the student’s goals. Flexible scheduling is available, and regular weekly sessions are encouraged for best results.
