About Allegra
I have been dancing and singing since I was a child—I began my training in Flamenco and so naturally I also learned to play the castanets. Now as a singer, I use my castanets to lead an Iberian Music ensemble, Mamás Bravas—based in Melbourne. I am a professional performer and graduate of the Royal College of Music, London and a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne.

My teaching method is tailored to the student I have in front of me. One size definitely doesn’t fit all and we will be working to your individual strengths and building the foundations of technique to make you a confident and eventually self-sufficient performer, whether you are in front of your Nan or an audience of a thousand (or more!). This is all about you and your freedom of expression and enjoyment of music and in the case of the castanets, percussion!
