About Myrto
I am a recent graduate with a first class bachelor's Cell Biology degree and have previous experience private tutoring, with a passion for teaching biological concepts and helping pupils succeed with their exams. I believe there is no such thing as "being bad at biology", as we can all succeed with a bit of confidence and the right practice! As someone who struggled in the past with her exams, I found that close-up practice and constantly working on my areas of improvement, as well as not being afraid to ask for help, pushed my confidence and allowed me to achieve As in my Highers, and a first class bachelor's in Cell Biology later on!

My goal for these lessons is to create a positive, relaxed space where we can work together to improve your understanding and confidence with the subject. I plan on making every subject tailored to fit your needs and goals. A variety of teaching methods can be applied according to your preference and specific needs, including targeted practice, where we can work through past papers and exam questions, or use a more creative approach to aid understanding by using visual tools such as Google Jamboard, short YouTube videos, and even short PowerPoint presentations to break down complex concepts into less scary and easier ones to grasp! Lesson length and availability can be discussed, and lessons are mainly for Biology students and Scottish Higher Human Biology, but lower levels of Biology could also be arranged.
