About Samuel
Hello! I am Sam, and I am a professional cellist and teacher living in London. I have recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music after six years of study. I have been teaching in London for about 5 years, and have been around teaching for many years - my mother is a violin teacher! I have performed in many venues around the UK, ranging from Wigmore Hall to Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. As a cellist, I have a deep passion and curiosity about my instrument, and I am always happy to pass on my enthusiasm to students and colleagues alike!

As a teacher, my goal is to help each student gain the tools to improve and develop as a player and musician, whilst building confidence and ability within a safe environment. I believe deeply in the importance of experimentation and exploration when learning, and I encourage this in the lessons in order to grow curiosity about the instrument, and for the student in their own time to build confidence in their ability to teach themselves! I believe that every student needs to be taught in their own individual way, and I approach each lesson with an ability and desire to adapt and change depending on what is needed. It is as important for the teacher to be ready to learn as it is for the student! I am deeply passionate about teaching, and whilst I am serious about what I do, I wish to take every student at the pace at which they are comfortable
