About Priya
I am a Certified Bharathanatyam Teacher with a diploma in Bharathanatyam from Telugu University (Distinction Holder). I am a well-trained in Bharatnatyam since the age of 6.
I have hands-on experience and professional training in tutoring beginners and advanced levels of bharathanatyam in the very ethnic Pandanallur style.
I have gained exceptional knowledge in choreography and instructional potential from my beloved Guru Smt. Hemalatha
Professional Experience:
Junior Bharatnatyam Dance Teacher, April 2016 – Present
Kalyaani Natya Kalaalaya, Chennai
Instructed students in various areas of dance.
Integrated core curriculum/ core curricular subject matter with drama/dance for students between ages 5-18
Choreographed and directed performances for schools and the public
Worked effectively with large and small groups of students to enhance skills.
Utilized outside or any other available resources to enrich the curriculum covering the history of classical dances and abhinaya dharpanam
Promoted artistic expression and physical activity.

Customised classes will be conducted and tailored to suit the student's age, interests, timings and preferences.
It is a very delicate art form, thus understanding of basics and following certain traditional rules will be encouraged during the classes. Theory classes will be optional if you want to explore more into the roots of Bharatanatyam more. Preparation for certification exams and grade exams will be done on request.
