About Kara
I am an Elementary Spanish teacher for grades K-4. I also have experience tutoring and teaching middle and high school Spanish as well. I have lived in Spain and spent time in many other Spanish-speaking countries. I am comfortable teaching 1:1 or in groups as large as 30 students. I am also a certified Special Education teacher and have experience working with students with varying disabilities. In addition to teaching Spanish I am a ELA and ELL interventionist.

I tailor all my lessons to my students unique learning styles. I use varying techniques and activities to make my lessons fun and engaging. I like to use a variety of songs, games and educational technology to make the information accessible for all. I bring in stories from my travels and personal experiences to help students make real world connections with the language. I will never give up on a student and will try a variety of different approaches to find which works best for each individual. I also have experience differentiating instruction for students with learning disabilities or special needs.
