About Daniel
My years of teaching experience have led me into numerous classrooms in many different settings. I learned much from my experiences and have (I hope) taught and made a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of students throughout Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties.
My lessons will revolve around my students' needs and will contain real-world examples and practical uses of the subject matter. I find that even topics of fantasy can (and should!) be related to events in our lives to more deeply understand and appreciate them. In this way we will build comprehension, as well as learning how to discuss matters in greater detail. We will also analyze spelling and grammar to ensure that our work looks and sounds the best it can!

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University and was often referred to by my professors there as "A real writer," "Very creative," and "Nice!"
I have been teaching the primary grades for the past 10 years in Pontiac, Detroit, Lake Orion, and most recently in Utica Community Schools.
As a father of a child with special needs I have learned through experience how best to communicate with young people and find ways to keep them engaged while learning.
Most recently I have been certified as an ABA Therapist and work one-on-one with children on the Autism spectrum.
