About Megan
Hi! I’m Megan, a reading tutor with 7 years of classroom teaching experience and a strong background in individualized instruction. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education and a master’s degree in Special Education. My sessions are structured yet fun, including a phonemic awareness warm-up, a phonics lesson using the UFLI curriculum, and time to apply skills through a decodable passage or an educational game. I’m passionate about creating a supportive, engaging environment where every student feels confident, capable, and excited to learn.

Structured & Engaging Lessons: Each session includes a phonemic awareness warm-up, a phonics lesson using the research-based UFLI curriculum, and a decodable passage or educational game to reinforce learning.
Focused on Foundational Skills: Lessons are designed to build strong decoding, blending, and reading fluency skills—essential components for confident readers.
Fun, Positive Environment: I believe students learn best when they’re enjoying themselves. I create a supportive, encouraging space where learning feels like play.
Individualized Support: Every child is unique! I adapt each lesson to meet your child’s current needs while gently challenging them to grow.
Communication Matters: I’m always happy to update parents and caregivers on progress and offer tips for supporting reading at home.
