About Joseph
I am a Qualified Teacher in Science with specialism in Chemistry, currently working at a prestigious independent school in Kent, where I teach solely Chemistry across KS3, 4 and 5. I am experienced in helping students of all abilities to attain high marks in public examinations, and have taught across different exam board specifications, including Edexcel and AQA for GCSE, and OCR A and AQA for A-Level Chemistry.
I am a PhD graduate in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience with a BSc First Class Honours in Pharmacology and have extensive teaching experience both within and outside of the classroom and higher education environment. I am a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Having achieved Qualified Teacher Status with an Outstanding grading, I have extensive school experience in the state and independent sectors of teaching at A-Level and GCSE, including the separate (triple) science specifications. Currently I tutor for both GCSE and A-Level clients, and have also worked to bridge the gap between KS2 and KS3.
During my studies at University College London (UCL), I taught practical classes to Pharmacology undergraduates and medical students, gave small group tutorials covering basic Pharmacology and Biochemistry to first year students, and mentored several laboratory placements.
I have previously been extensively involved as a volunteer with St John Ambulance, with experience in teaching all aspects of First Aid and other related topics to both adults and children.

I am a highly experienced, qualified Science teacher with a specialism in Chemistry. I have a preference to take on A-Level students at the present time. I have a strong track record of student success both inside and outside of the classroom, with my students attaining high examination results at GCSE and A-Level. I am able to tailor lessons to the individual and can teach across all ability levels.

Joseph comes very highly recommended. He worked with my daughter through AS and A levels during the pandemic and after. She found his teaching to be brilliant with making complex information understandable.
Lessons were tailored to suit her needs, requests. Content was delivered in creative ways with interactive black boards rather than through a PowerPoint.

It was a very smooth first tutorial process. Joseph was being very detailed and helpful in advance discussions prior to my making decision and payment. He wanted to make sure that the session was tailor made to what my daughter needed at the time. He came fully prepared with informations, knowledges, and handouts to share. I could see the way he tutored my daughter was very efficient, interactive, and structural. Joseph has been brilliant with teaching my daughter A Level Chemistry. He has the ability to teach complex concepts in an understandable way. Joseph targets areas of Chemistry that she finds challenging so tailors lessons to the individuals needs. He makes lessons enjoyable and engaging.
Joseph has taught me various lessons focused on the anatomy and physiology of different human bodily system. He was able to explain all of the technical ideas and vocabulary clearly, varying his language and approach when necessary. He also used a variety of different teaching styles, including some practical learning. When he noticed gaps in my knowledge, he adjusted what he was doing to ensure that I understood everything.
