About Zoe
I have dedicated 10 years to teaching chemistry, supported by a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Organic and Physical Chemistry. Throughout my career, I have mentored students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational concepts to advanced learners preparing for university, research, or professional applications. My approach combines clarity, practical examples, and analytical exercises to make chemistry accessible, engaging, and intellectually stimulating.
I emphasise a student-centred approach, creating lessons that balance theory, problem-solving, experiments, and real-world relevance. I encourage independent thinking, curiosity, and analytical reasoning, ensuring learners develop both competence and confidence in chemistry.
Outside of teaching, I stay current with scientific research, laboratory techniques, and contemporary applications of chemistry to enrich my lessons. Witnessing students transform from uncertain beginners to confident, skilled problem-solvers is the most rewarding aspect of my work, and it inspires me to continually refine my teaching methods to cultivate curiosity, precision, and mastery in every learner.

My lessons cover chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, and molecular interactions. I incorporate interactive problem-solving exercises, hands-on demonstrations, virtual simulations, and real-life examples to ensure that concepts are clearly understood, applied confidently, and retained effectively. Each lesson fosters critical thinking, analytical skills, and curiosity, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Lesson plans are carefully structured for each level. Beginners focus on fundamental principles, simple calculations, and safe laboratory practices. Intermediate students explore reaction mechanisms, titrations, equilibrium concepts, and analytical techniques. Advanced learners engage in multi-step syntheses, kinetic modelling, thermodynamic problem-solving, and research-style analysis. Guided exercises, detailed feedback, and repeated practice ensure steady progression and mastery at every stage.
