About Ava
I have dedicated 10 years to teaching chemistry, earning a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Organic and Physical Chemistry. My experience spans mentoring students across all levels, from beginners learning foundational principles to advanced learners preparing for academic, research, or professional pathways. I integrate theory with practical problem-solving and experimental applications to make chemistry accessible, intellectually stimulating, and rewarding.
My teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, structured guidance, and student-centred learning. Lessons incorporate interactive exercises, real-world examples, visual aids, and guided experimentation. I encourage independent analysis, critical thinking, and curiosity, creating a safe environment where learners can explore concepts confidently and methodically.
Outside teaching, I stay current with modern research, experimental techniques, and applied chemistry developments to bring contemporary relevance to lessons. Chemistry becomes both engaging and understandable when learners can see how molecular interactions and reactions connect to real-life phenomena and problem-solving scenarios. My lessons focus on atomic and molecular structure, stoichiometry, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, equilibrium, and analytical techniques. I integrate interactive problem-solving exercises, demonstrations, simulations, and real-world examples to ensure concepts are not only learnt but retained and applied with confidence. Each session encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning while providing a supportive environment for enquiry and experimentation.
Lesson plans are customised for the student’s level. Beginners build solid foundations in basic concepts, measurement, calculations, and laboratory safety. Intermediate learners explore reaction mechanisms, titration methods, equilibrium concepts, kinetic analysis, and applied calculations. Advanced students engage with multi-step syntheses, thermodynamic modelling, complex kinetics, and research-style experiments. Structured exercises, stepwise guidance, and consistent feedback reinforce understanding and mastery across all levels.
Chemistry study enhances scientific reasoning, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities that extend beyond the classroom.
