About Jen
Graduating with a First Class Degree in Fine Art from The Glasgow School of Art in 2020, I have since gone on to work in various art education roles. These include as a school's art tutor for Sense Scotland and as a freelance art tutor. I currently deliver art workshops for kids and families at the Bowes Museum, and work as a clay/ceramics teacher for kids. My classes are child focused and I work with each student to help them build confidence, find their creative voice, learn new techniques and think like an artist. I am passionate about creative education and love supporting children to fall in love with art.

I am very flexible with my classes and acknowledge the wide variety of learning approaches, abilities and styles so I make sure to tailor each set of classes to the individual student. I help each child explore their own creative path and voice as well as encouraging them to try new styles and techniques.
I am passionate about children's creativity and love working with young learners to share my knowledge learned at art school, bring a joy and passion into creating and nurture each child's imagination.
All classes are offered on a week by week basis so there is no pressure to commit to a certain amount, allowing for maximum flexibility for you as a student!

Jen is a superstar tutor. Not only is she a talented artist herself, she also is a generous, friendly and flexible art teacher. She is a careful listener which makes her an excellent person to bounce ideas off of, plus she is always ready with little suggestions that make a big difference in how you approach your work. Would highly recommend!
Jen provides well thought out lesson plans that are easy to follow. Her technical skill as a painter as well as her critical insights have helped me develop my practice. She is forthright and intelligent as a tutor, her kind and cheerfull guidance create a productive learning space.
