About Kenton
My passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine began at age 14 when I began studies in Kung-Fu. I graduated from Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2007 with a diploma in Acupuncture and a diploma in TCM. Upon successfully passing Alberta acupuncture board examinations, I moved to Nova Scotia to open a practice and teach. I still hold registration in both provinces. I have taught for two colleges, was a guest lecturer at Acadia University, and was requested for seminars by yoga instructors, the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia, AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, as well as Saskatchewan & Nova Scotia Naturopathic Conferences. I have written for AcupunctureToday.com, Qi Journal, Kung-Fu Tai Chi magazine and Wing Chun Illustrated.

I know that from talking to graduates from all over the world, it doesn’t matter if they went to what’s considered a ‘good’ school or a ‘bad’ school, many are struggling to treat musculoskeletal, internal, external, and gynecological concerns that are all present in their clinics. I help students: - Diagnosing quickly and effectively - Thinking in acupoints - Communicating expectations - Creating healthy boundaries. If you are feeling a little (or a lot!) confused about Chinese medicine theory and making it work in the clinic, I have the ability to take those complicated topics and make them accessible. When it comes to foundational theory, my unique "thinking in acupoints" approach will immediately boost your efficacy, and therefore confidence, in the clinic. Successful outcomes in the clinic are dependent on patients returning so that we can continue to work on them; learn my communication flow so patients stay in the know. Finally, staving off burnout in an industry where we give so much is key, so I teach the difference between empathy and compassion to create healthy boundaries, be on time, and have energy left over a long clinic day.
