I've been having Russian language lessons with Anastasia for over a year now, and I've found that having private tutoring is one of the best ways to stay focussed and motivated for learning a language.
Anastasia is an exceptional teacher who is extremely passionate about languages as well as ambitious for her own development in linguistic education. Throughout the lessons she has brought many different types of materials, including colloquial forms, poetry, formal research, literature, comedy, tongue twisters, as well as examination practice. In addition she brings a multitude of grammatical exercises with an awareness of the different types of mistakes a learner of the language can fall into.
Perhaps one of her most significant qualities is patience, manifest by a large proportion of lesson time adapted to and listening to the student. She has a strong perception to discern what the student is trying to express, and takes efforts to re-express, correcting grammar, pronunciation, structure and style. Rather than just moving on to the next exercise she diligently returns to test and correct. She is not lazy to write things down, which means that the benefit of her corrections can be captured to revise outside of lessons.
She also has a strong vocabulary and grammatical knowledge of English, which means that should a particular concept be too subtle for the student to grasp in Russian, then she can fill in with English. Her own interests are varied (e.g. literature, technology, psychology, travel) giving plenty to motivate conversation, which is always in a friendly and well-humoured manner. Not to mention all organisational matters she runs smoothly.
I would unreservedly recommend her as a Russian language tutor.

I started doing lessons with Anastasia a few months ago. She is very professional and well organized. She is great at correcting mistakes, and explaining complicated grammar topics. The workbook is fantastic. Every week it focuses on a new topic and provides listening, reading and writing exercises with new vocabulary explained and translated. This has been very helpful to me as it gives me the opportunity to expand my vocabulary on topics that I might not normally have the opportunity to discuss in my everyday life. I participated in her speaking club, which also focused on a new topic weekly. It was nice to have the opportunity to discuss freely in Russian with other individuals of my level that were also learning. She also incorporates games into the lessons to make them more interesting and enjoyable. I would recommend learning with her.
