I've worked various jobs, but over the past three years have primarily dedicated myself to freelance work (journalism, content and technical writing), nonprofit work (grant-writing, program coordinator) and tutoring.
During my time as a freelancer, I have worked with various Silicon Valley tech companies to optimize their content and create blog posts to drive customers to their business.

Hello, My name is Nolan, I am from California and I graduated with a degree in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Among various jobs, I've worked the past three years as a tutor for various subjects as well as a writer for tech companies and other businesses in the Silicon Valley. I specialize in teaching intermediate and advanced English students. Our time will be spent working on speaking (pronunciation, fluency, ability to speak about advanced subjects), reading (comprehension, vocabulary) and writing (grammar and written communication). I am happy to cater my lessons to the needs of each student individually, depending on your preferences we can work more on what you would like to improve the most. My goals as a tutor are to raise the fluency of my students. In addition to teaching them the language, I also seek to teach cultural cues which can improve one's ability to communicate themselves with native speakers. I am also aware that many students are learning English to seek further job opportunities - I also am happy to work on more specific writing and speaking skills one might use in a professional or academic setting.
