About Simon
I am based in Northcote, Auckland, and have been playing piano since I was in primary school (a long time ago!). I enjoy playing piano classics from the likes of Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, and Liszt. I also enjoy modern classics and playing jazz standards.

I am an experienced piano player and piano teacher having taught both privately and through Music Education Centre. I have a background in both Classical and Jazz piano. I am also able to teach modern piano.
I am able to teach both in-person and online around Auckland

Perfect! Simon was very patient and answered all my questions. He helped me with the fingering of a very complex and fast piece. He taught me the correct technique to play piano, raising my wrists a little so I could control my dynamics better and reduce pain. He is a very skilled pianist and is great at teaching.

As we discussed, continue working with fingering of the next line. On the line before that we were working on, try raising your hand slightly and tucking your thumb. I hope that helps ease the strain. Otherwise, we could try some finger exercises.
