About Nikolai
I am a passionate Guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience teaching college students. I believe guitar learning should be enjoyable, clear, and confidence-building. My goal is to help students feel relaxed with the instrument and enjoy playing music.
My teaching style is flexible and student-focused. I take time to understand each student’s goals, musical taste, and learning pace. Based on this, I design lessons that are simple, practical, and effective.
I use innovative teaching methods such as song-based learning, guided practice routines, and technique-building exercises. Students learn chords, strumming patterns, fingerstyle, and rhythm by playing real songs. I also use backing tracks to help improve timing and confidence.
Music theory is explained in a simple and practical way so students can apply it directly on the guitar. I also encourage creativity through improvisation and basic songwriting.
I create a positive and friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My aim is to help college students become confident guitar players who enjoy learning and practising music.

My Guitar teaching approach emphasises creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability. I focus on helping students develop both technical skill and musical expression. Lessons include improvisation, songwriting, and exploring different musical styles to encourage personal growth.
Critical thinking is key. I help students understand song structures, chord progressions, and scales so they can analyse music, improvise, and solve challenges independently.
Accountability is essential. I guide students to set goals, practise regularly, and reflect on progress. Feedback and encouragement motivate them to stay consistent and confident.
Besides Guitar, I teach music theory, ear training, composition, and performance techniques. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, interests, and learning style, creating a productive and enjoyable experience.
My goal is to mentor students into independent, creative musicians who love playing, composing, and performing.
