About Tim

I have played piano my entire life and all through school. I majored in Classical Composition and Piano performance from Amherst College. Since then I have been performing and recording piano and producing music for 10 years now.

I have recorded, written with, and released music with Grammy Winning musicians including people like Marina and the Diamonds, Tove Lo, Slash, Juliette Lewis, and Talib Kweli both under my own artist name and for other people.

I have always had a passion for piano and think it is the backbone of all popular music.

About the lesson

I think it is important to first find out what kind of musician you want to be. Do you want to..

- Learn popular songs to play for your family?
- Learn classical or jazz songs?
- Become a professional musician?
- Practice ear training and chords to further your music career

Theres no one answer and every reason you want to play is a good one. I play all different types of music and write music for piano very regularly. I have taught people of all ages and feel patient with everyones level of playing. I attached a piece I wrote and performed below to check out

Tim is a trustworthy tutor. He took me from literally zero to feeling confident; sitting on my own for days making real songs from scratch. We learned writing, beat making, even singing. Feeling really good about what I’ve learned in such a short period.

I found Tim online and have been working on and off with him for a couple of years now and he really helps me with any type of work. I've learned so much and he patiently guides me through any problem or techniques I need to work on. He's helped me with my DJing, production, gear choice, and even branding and social network decisions. Couldn't be happier with my decision to work with him.

All I have to say is that Timothy is an amazing composer, song designer, sound designer, and producer. We collaborated on some compositions of mine that were at a very early stage, and he immediately understood the vision and did amazing work taking them to the next level - away from where they were at originally. It was truly unbelievable actually. I highly recommend him for people who want to take their music (or anything else involving sound) very seriously. Incredible value added here. look forward to working with Timothy again.
