About Gary
I've been teaching for 30 years and have written a book on beginning piano technique. But as with almost all relationships, chemistry is key. To that end, I offer a 15-min mini lesson for free so you can get a feel for how I work and see if you like my style of teaching.

I'm big on fundamentals--scales, chords, and arpeggios. Strong fundamentals allow you to play all styles. I get you playing almost immediately with accompaniments that I provide, so even though you may only be playing simple things, it will sound like something substantial. And it gets you paying attention to rhythm.
