About Philip
I've been a teacher for nearly all of my adult life. Initially I wanted to be a scientist doing field work; however, I discovered teaching a few years into doing field work. Even after more than two decades of teaching science, I still find myself fascinated by the natural world. My reading list continues to be very science focused and I still enjoy learning new things about science everyday.

While I can certainly provide a direct instruction style lecture if that is what you are interested in. My past students and I have found that a much more conversational approach works best. This of course does necessitate you coming to the lesson prepared with some questions that you are working on. My strengths are working with biology, environmental and geology students at the high school to undergraduate level.
