About Brent

I have a degree in computer science from Belmont University and I've worked as a software engineer and a high school computer science teacher. I currently run a business creating game design-inspired coding curriculum. My curriculum has been used in schools and summer camps around the country.

I still tutor because I love teaching.

About the lesson

I teach students coding through project-based lessons. Students learn to write code in the Java language while making their own video games. All students receive lifetime access to my online courses and coding resources. I teach students how to think independently and solve problems. After learning with me, students are able to design and build their own video games with their own code.

Brent has been tutoring my daughter in AP Comp Sci for the past few months on a weekly basis. Brent is extremely knowledgeable and has been able to help my daughter gain more confidence in the material. At the end of each lesson, he also provides additional direction and notes for my child and a summary of what was covered. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to improve in a comp sci course or looking to build strong foundation in coding.

Brent has been tutoring my son now for months and the growth has been tremendous. My son had a light interest in coding, but now he truly enjoys it and builds games and modes of all kinds! He is 9 and it's amazing how focused he is when doing his lessons and also when working after his lessons on his own. Brent is a great coding and programming instructor for kids and does a great job. I highly recommend his services.
