About Safia
Hi, my name is Safia. I currently do a blended workload through doing part-time at 2 schools. I attend regular high school, where I study 3 Scottish Highers in Classics, Sociology and history, but also participate part-time at an online college where I study 2 A-Levels, Law and English Language.
I have experience tutoring a range of age groups, from 13 to 15, in various subjects.
My typical methods depend on what the student requires; if the student lacks confidence in structuring answers to exam questions or essays then I focus on a variation of exam style questions and go through the process step-by-step, from analysing the question to proof-reading the answer. However, if the student struggles more on a content based problem then I tend to practice active recall, the blurt method, repetition and many more techniques. This is done through resources such as revision cards, mind-maps and linking.
This can all of course be catered to the students specific needs and preferred techniques.

Tailored techniques to fit your unique learning ideals. Flexible schedule. Lessons can last from 45 minutes to 1 hour. I am an experienced tutor in English Language and Classics at GCSE, National 5 and Scottish Higher level. I received a A in my English Language GCSE, a B in my English Literature GCSE and an A in my Classics Higher.
I am happy to teach ages 10+ and form a lesson plan around the students curriculum and what they are struggling with the most.
The level of prior knowledge to the subject is not necessary; I am not here to judge if you are just interested in the subject and not planning on taking an exam, I am happy to help grow your interest. If the student does not have a large prior knowledge about the subject, a specification will be required so that I know exactly what the student is looking for and will be required for the final exam.
