About Rory
My journey in programming began with curiosity about software, logic, and digital systems. Over nine years, I have developed expertise in multiple languages and frameworks, cultivating a teaching approach that combines conceptual understanding with practical application. Teaching allows me to guide students in translating curiosity into skill, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving. I teach with patience, flexibility, and encouragement, adapting lessons to each learner’s pace and style. Hands-on coding exercises, structured projects, and exploratory challenges ensure learners develop technical competence, independence, and resilience. I view mistakes as opportunities to strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking. Outside the classroom, I work on programming projects, explore emerging technologies, and refine teaching strategies. Beginners learn variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and basic algorithmic thinking. Intermediate learners explore object-oriented programming, debugging, project-based coding, and structured problem-solving strategies. Advanced students tackle data structures, optimisation, software design principles, and real-world projects. Lessons also incorporate guidance on assignments, portfolio development, and exam preparation to ensure learners gain confidence and practical experience. Programming equips students with analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and independent reasoning.
