About Gerard
My name is Gerard. I am a concert pianist and composer trained at the Royal College of Music (London) and Tchaikovsky State Conservatory.
I have performed at Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Lucerne Festival, and collaborated with the Chineke Orchestra — Europe's first majority Black and ethnically diverse professional orchestra.
My work has been recognized by The New York Times, and I record for Hyperion Records and Challenge Records
International.
As a competitor, I am a prize-winner at the Grieg International Piano Competition, the Chappell Medal, and the American Protégé Romantic Music Competition in
New York, among others.
I bring this professional background directly into my teaching — with patience, structure, and a genuine passion for passing on the craft.

My name is Gerard, and I am a concert pianist with over 15 years of performance experience, including concerts at Carnegie Hall.
My lessons are tailored to each student — whether you are a complete beginner, a teenager preparing for conservatory entrance exams, or an adult returning to
the piano after years away.
A typical lesson includes:
- Technique and finger exercises adapted to your level
- Repertoire work across classical, romantic, and modern styles
- Music theory woven naturally into the practice, not taught as a separate dry subject
What sets me apart is that I do not teach from a rigid method book. I listen first — to your goals, your frustrations, your taste — and build the lesson
around that. Progress happens faster when you are actually enjoying what you play.
Lessons are suitable for ages 7 and up, all levels welcome.
