About Joël
Hello and welcome !
I am Congolese and have been teaching languages since 2015. I speak Lingala (native), French (native) and English (intermediate). I hold a master's degree in foreign language teaching and ICTE but also a researcher in the use of digital tools in the teaching and learning of foreign languages.
Among other things, I teach French to non-French-speaking individuals (all levels) and help prepare for the TFE and CLES.
Before obtaining my M2 in foreign language teaching in France where I currently live, I also obtained a baccalaureate + 5 in business management and another in information systems design at the University of Kinshasa. I worked for 4 years for a commercial bank in Kinshasa.
This allows me to understand your goals and help you achieve them when learning French for work or French for business.
My method can be summed up in 3 words: learn, practice and autonomy. It will help you to learn and practice Lingala but also to become autonomous in learning and practicing it on a daily basis.
Our lessons are built around the authentic documents (songs) and generally contain a listening session, a pronunciation workshop and a grammar point. The emphasis is on oral discussions to get you talking as much as possible. And depending on the levels and needs, we also offer writing and reading work.

Our courses are aimed at teenagers and adults who want to learn Lingala for professional reasons or simply to understand the language and the texts of Congolese songs (La RUMBA). Our courses are adapted to the needs and objectives of each of our learners. A first interview with each learner allows us to identify their needs and objectives to then establish the progression of their learning. Conversation and grammar points are practiced around the authentic materials used during our lessons (video of songs, shows, etc.).
Our methodology will mainly target the development of your listening comprehension, oral expression and oral interaction skills. Then, as needed, we can work on writing and reading.
