My lessons are for players of all abilities. As a beginner you will be slowly and methodically taken through every aspect of approaching a musical instrument, in both a mechanical sense and as a performer. Through the intermediate levels you will be taken through advanced techniques and the most effective practice methods to streamline your progress into becoming a high-end performer. As an advanced level musician, you've already learned how to play the instrument, my role will be more to guide you as a performer, both a soloist and an ensemble member, how to get more out of the notes on the page and truly excel in your musicianship.
Through my Salvation Army upbringing I've been surrounded by music my whole life and I had the opportunity of performing in front of crowds since I was a small child. Through my entire youth I sang in choirs and played in brass bands. In my more recent years, I've gained experience in the orchestral world, the big band world and even the folk world! I had the privilege of being tutored through my grades by Gary Fountain, who passed on a great deal of crucial knowledge to me. I'm now doing a BMus at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tutelage of none other than Richard Marshall.
