About Amit
I'm Amit, a CPA and York University graduate with over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. I worked at the CRA as an auditor and trainer, where I taught tax, and in 2018 I founded my own CPA firm. Today I help small business owners with their books, tax returns and financial statements every week.
I tutor because I remember how confusing accounting can feel the first time through. I explain things in plain language, I'm patient with questions, and I connect every topic to how it works in a real business. My goal is simple: you understand the material, you walk into your exam with confidence, and you don't need me for long.

HOW WE START
Your first lesson begins with a short assessment. From there I build a study plan around your course outline, your upcoming tests and the topics costing you marks.
A TYPICAL 60-MINUTE LESSON
- 15 min: strengthen one concept, explained in plain language
- 15 min: an exam-style example worked through together, step by step
- 20 min: you solve practice problems on your own while I review your approach
- 5-10 min: questions, feedback and what to practice before next time
You leave every lesson with study notes and practice problems.
WHAT SETS ME APART
I am a CPA and a former CRA auditor and trainer, and I run my own accounting firm. I show you how journal entries, adjusting entries, inventory, cash flow statements and tax rules play out in real businesses, which makes them far easier to remember on exam day.
Common topics: the accounting cycle, adjusting entries, inventory costing, bank reconciliations, receivables, revenue recognition, the cash flow statement, cost-volume-profit analysis, job costing, budgeting, ratio analysis, and personal and corporate tax basics.
Lessons are available in person in downtown London, Ontario, or online.

Details
Rates are per 60-minute lesson. Your first lesson is free and includes a short assessment and a study plan. Save with a 5-hour pack ($42/hr) or a 10-hour pack ($40/hr), which work well for a full term or exam preparation. Online lessons are the same rate.
