About Claudia
I graduated from the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana, Cuba in classical music and from Emesp - Tom Jobim, São Paulo in jazz piano and mpb. I started playing the piano at the age of 4 and the transverse flute at 10, and I studied about 16 years in music schools and formal institutions, in addition to many years of professional experience as a performer and composer. I have been teaching for more than 14 years at all levels and my method covers almost any need of the interested person, from the first steps to advanced topics. I love to teach and I think my lessons are fun and you will learn a lot. *My first and second languages are Spanish and Portuguese. I am very open to listen to the specificities of each person and work on the basis of individuality and not standardisation of teaching, I believe in teaching art as a vehicle for transformation. Methodology based on Cuban and Brazilian music teaching, I organise the classes always observing the specific needs and individualities of each person: - Technique: scales, triads, arpeggios, reading studies - Pieces: popular or classical music chosen by the student or me, where we can develop arrangements and interpretive studies of the pieces - Other issues: if necessary, we can work on issues related to scenic fears, technical and physical problems such as pain when playing, etc.
