About Olivia
I focus on making things actually make sense, rather than just getting students to memorise content. I break topics down into simple, manageable steps and build understanding gradually, so students don’t feel overwhelmed or lost.
My lessons are calm, structured, and supportive. I use lots of questioning, examples, and recap to check understanding, and I adapt how I explain things depending on the student. I’m particularly confident supporting students with SEND, including those who need more repetition, clearer structure, or more time to process information. I’m patient, flexible, and used to adjusting my approach so each student can access the learning properly.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I can adapt this depending on focus and attention levels. I teach KS3–GCSE science and can also support A-level Biology, Psychology, and Health & Social Care.
I’m currently training as a secondary teacher and will be teaching Biology, Psychology and PSHE in a grammar school from September. Alongside this, I have a background in healthcare, so I’m used to explaining complex ideas in a clear, practical way.
I also support exam technique, helping students understand how to answer questions effectively, not just learn the content. I’m happy to provide tailored revision resources and practice questions to support learning between lessons.
I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while still being challenged and building confidence over time.
