About Amara
Hi! I’m a Biology major at Stanford University from Hawai‘i, on the pre-med track. I’m especially passionate about neuroscience research and absolutely love chemistry. With ten younger siblings, I’ve seen firsthand that every student learns differently, and I’ve learned how to adapt my teaching to meet those unique needs. I’m here to help your children build confidence, master the material, and enjoy the learning process along the way!

As a tutor for students from elementary through high school, I adapt my teaching methods to each child’s age, learning style, and needs. With younger students especially, flexibility and engagement are key. I use a combination of slideshows, practice problems, interactive games, and real-life analogies to make Math, English, and Science both understandable and enjoyable. A typical lesson starts with a quick review, followed by a short concept explanation, guided practice, and then student-led problem solving or activities. What sets me apart is my academic background as a Stanford student and my extensive experience working with kids and tutoring across age groups. My goal is to help students build confidence and curiosity in every subject.
