About Matt
I am a 3rd year undergraduate student taking studies full time in French for the purposes of an Education Degree. I took K-12 French Immersion, and when I left school I worked in capacities that allowed me to preserve and practice my French.
Nowadays, I am fully fluent in French, and I consider myself a French culture lover (Francophile). As it relates to my students, I am known to make lessons fun, open and inclusive. I try to take the French learner deeper than the surface understanding to achieve a deeper connection to French language and culture. I want my students to start to THINK in French, SPEAK with confidence, and WRITE with accuracy.

Bonjour tout le monde!
As a fully fluent, 3rd year French education student who is also an Anglophone, I understand the struggles that non-Francophone students have when learning French. Whether it comes to learning grammar accords, gender of words, or just working through the difficult pronunciation; I have a holistic, open and inclusive perspective paired with an in-depth understanding of the French language.
A typical lesson will open with some casual, yet still structured and guided conversation. We will learn how to think in French, going above simple phrases, and more into a deeper understanding about how French native speakers structure their phrases. We will still, of course, work on the essentials: frequent-use vocabulary, phonetic understanding of written words, as well as writing phrases with an attention to grammar to further affirm our oral communication skills and organize our thoughts into written word.
My lessons are fun for everyone, and are intended for all ages K-12, as well as any adults who are interested in improving their French skills or even those looking to achieve some degree of fluency. As an English native speaker, I know the path to fluency, and I understand ways to make the process more fun and inclusive for everyone.
