About Sophie
My name is Sophie, I currently study Biomedical Science at University. I’m looking forward to helping students achieve what they wish to and encourage confidence in their studies. From my own experience, I know how difficult school and Sixth Form/college can be. It is important to me that I have the resources and knowledge to help students believe in themselves and know that they can reach their goals. I aim to give students the best possible chance at this.

Lessons are catered to students' individual needs through assessing their strong and weak subject areas. Lessons are between 1 hour and 2 hours long. My lessons are for GCSE and A-level students so ages between around 13/14 and 18/19. Depending on the type of work I am helping the student with depends on the approach to lessons. For example, if it is more focused on exam technique, then I will aim to familiarise the student with exam questions and mark schemes along with some practice, rather than (with general revision) focusing on understanding and applying knowledge. I understand that each student has a unique way of learning and I make sure that this is acknowledged and applied within lessons. I have some experience with tutoring my peers throughout my time at University and Sixth Form. I completed a Peer Mentoring Scheme in 2019. I have a HNC in BSc Sociology, 3 A-levels and 9 GCSEs.
