I am currently studying at RMIT University. I am studying Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I have no formal qualifications in teaching, but I am able to teach Mathematical Methods for year 12.

About Derek
I am a 25-year-old student who has always had a passion for numbers and algorithms. However, I didn't truly fall in love with mathematics until a few years ago, when I started working through a 'Mathematical Methods Foundation' textbook that was lying around the house. I began to become fascinated and addicted to the content. I started with combinatorics, and eventually worked my way to integral calculus. I loved mathematics because I viewed it as a collection of puzzles to be solved. I loved the language and syntax. But mostly, I loved discovering my true talent. Since then, I have achieved things I never thought myself capable of.
I now study second-year mathematics at RMIT University, and currently hold a credit-average GPA. I have successfully completed courses including first-year calculus, advanced linear algebra, and mathematical programming using MATLAB. I am currently studying topics including advanced differential equations and applied statistics.
I hope to instil the same passion for mathematics in others, and help young minds reach their utmost potential. I dream that I can help others get from where I was to where I am.

I am looking to teach students of age 16-18. I will teach at the student's own pace (e.g. not proceed until they are satisfied that they've learned the content fully). Lessons will typically range from 1 hour to 4 hours (possibly longer depending on the students needs).
