About Amisha
My background is in Computational Ecology and Biostatistics, I have a Master's from Imperial College London. I'm a Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP - Python Institute) with graduate teaching assistant experience in a coding bootcamp at my university.
I also have three years of experience as a private tutor for English, Spanish, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics to second year undergraduate standard. I've taught a range of people; children aged 6 to adults up to the age of 23.
My favorite part of teaching is finding a style that works for every student, so learning is always engaging and never a chore!

Mi formación previa es en Biología Computacional y Bioestadística, teniendo un Máster de Imperial College London. También me he certificado de PCAP, del Python Institute, y tengo experiencia como asistente de enseñamiento a nivel de Máster, durante un bootcamp de programación.
Cuento con tres años de experiencia como profesore privade de Inglés, Español, Química, Biología y Matemáticas a nivel de segundo de carrera. tengo experiencia con una variedad de edades; niñes de 6 años a adultos de 23.
Disfruto el máximo de ser profe cuando encontramos un estilo de enseñanza y aprendizaje que se adapta al perfil de cada estudiante, así aprender nunca es aburrido!

I can teach anywhere from basic to advanced programming concepts in Python and R; from data types to object oriented programming. I can also cover statistics and Machine Learning, and how to implement them in these programming languages.
My lessons are personalised:
--- I firmly believe everyone learns differently, so let's work together to figure out how you learn best.
--- Let's discuss what you want to learn and how you want to get there. I will design a curriculum for the purpose that you need; if you need help with concepts on a university course, if you want to start from scratch, if you need help with more advanced concepts as you're self-learning, etc.
As a default, my lessons start with an initial theoretical introduction and walkthrough on a core concept, but are always followed up with practical exercises. I will walk you through different development environments you can use, but I will usually teach with Jupyter Notebooks.
Short homework assignments (~30 mins) can be given if requested, consistency is key to building a good coding practice!

Puedo enseñar desde conocimientos básicos a avanzados de programación en Python y R; de tipos de datos a programación orientada a objetos. También podemos cubrir conceptos de estadística y Machine Learning y cómo implementarlos con estos lenguajes de programación.
Mis clases siempre se adaptan a tus necesidades:
--- Creo firmemente en que todes tenemos diferentes maneras de aprender, trabajemos juntes en encontrar la tuya.
--- Crearé un currículo personalizado a tus intereses; si quieres aprender desde cero, si quieres reforzar conocimientos, si quieres hacer un poco de debugging en un proyecto personal - lo podemos trabajar todo.
En general mis clases empiezan con un breve componente teórico de conocimientos intrínsecos de programación, pero pronto se ponen en práctica. Suelo utilizar Jupyter Notebooks para enseñar pero puedo guiarte a cómo trabajar en otros entornos de desarrollo de programas.
Soy partidarie de poner deberes si me lo pides (~30 mins), porque la consistencia es la clave a desarrollar buenos hábitos como programadore, pero podemos ir al ritmo de aprendizaje que te vaya bien.
