About Priscilla
I am what the sign language community calls a CODA (child of a Deaf adult). Born into the Deaf community via two Deaf parents as a hearing individual, sign language is my first language. I learned “correct” english when I started pre-k.
I have been teaching sign language for over 19 years and have a lifetime of experience in the world of Deaf culture, sign language, and interpreting as a sign language specialist. I'd like to give a special shout out to my Mamma for teaching me how to teach sign language. :)

Before we get in to the beginnings of sign language vocabulary, I will show you how to start a conversation, how to attain one's attention, and how to ask for clarification of a sign or signs. Next, we will go into the finger-spelled alphabet, numbers 1-10, and so forth. There is no point in diving into the vocabulary if one does not know how to initiate a conversation using sign language! :)
