James has been an exceptional tutor. He started tutoring me halfway through my first year of the IB program and from getting 4s and even 3s, I started receiving higher grades including, 6s and 7s. He taught me new strategies to not only deal with stress during exams, but also study techniques to ensure I can spend the less time possible on my studies and still efficiently get the most out of it - this ensures I don't get burnout considering this is a 2 year program. He tutored me Maths IA and Chemistry HL which are really challenging IB subjects and I can happily say I am excelling in both due to Jame's help. I believe James was a great tutor for our daughter. From my experience with James, he knows the content inside and out and be is always willing to explain the content in different ways to make sure it is understood and mastered. James is structured in the way he teaches, promotes asking questions, and effectively uses visual aids to support his explanations. James was also very adept at answering questions in the IB style, which was invaluable. I personally saw how excited James was to help my daughter learn and I highly recommend him as a tutor.

James is an amazing tutor. He is not only one of the smartest people I know, with a drive for learning, but also loves teaching his knowledge to others.
I have gone to James countless times with school work and he has helped me understand topics, find gaps in my knowledge and helped improve them through working with me on the course work. James is understanding and empathetic when it comes to teaching, so I have never felt talked down to or judged if I don't know something. His assistance has increased many of my grades by at least 10 percent, and I credit several A grades to his tutoring. Some examples:
- He helped me edit several english essays and coached me to improve my grammar and spelling. I have had 2 English tutors in the past that have not helped me as much as he has.
- I struggled with grasping organic chemistry (Y11) and the week before an exam I spent an hour every day with him quizzing me, helping me understand anything I struggled with and to keep me motivated. I scored an 87.6% on the exam that had a 64% average and it pulled my average mark up by 13% (with scaling used in the ACT Atar system)
- I studied human biology, a course he has never studied and yet when I asked if he could help with my revision, he not only tested and guided me, but also researched the topic in his own time to make sure he could help me with what I was missing or didn't understand (of which there was more than I relised). I ended up scoring the highest in my class for this exam and got the highest mark on any exam given by the science department that term with a 98.75% losing only half a mark.
I would highly recommend James to anyone seeking to improve understanding, bridge understanding gaps, and to work through course-work with. James is one of the best tutors you can find.
