About Jane
Teaching provides a way to share the art form that has defined my life since I was a child. I enjoy the process.
My background includes a degree from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and 13 years of focused instruction. I have guided 283 students through tone production, intonation, and shifting positions.
We refine bowing technique, left hand agility, and rhythm to ensure you play with poise. Preparation for ABRSM or Trinity grade exams is available. I also emphasize tuning by ear and deep ear training. Music remains a constant source of wonder in my daily life.

You will find that playing the violin becomes truly enjoyable when you stop struggling against the instrument. If you are starting your journey, I focus on building a strong foundation that feels natural and relaxed. My method incorporates 10 minutes of dedicated feedback to ensure you understand every aspect of your performance.
We practice orchestral playing and positioning in a way that remains steady and thoughtful. I truly enjoy seeing how students gain confidence throughout each term.
