It has been more than 4 years since I started taking Kathak lessons from Damini ma’am and I find myself so fortunate to learn the dance form under her guidance. Over the period of learning, her teaching methodology has proven to be truly exceptional. Her profound understanding of Kathak is consistently evident in every class, and her remarkable ability to impart this complex art form to stu-dents has been a constant source of inspiration.

Her unwavering emphasis on correct technique, posture, and rhythm provides students with a strong and invaluable foundation. Furthermore, she consistently fosters an environment that is both disciplined and encouraging, which allows students to explore their potential and grow significantly in confidence.

Beyond her technical expertise, she exhibits admirable qualities such as patience, dedication, and a genuine passion for the dance. I wholeheartedly recommend Damini ma’am to anyone seeking a dedicated, skilled, and inspiring Kathak teacher who is committed to the holistic growth of her stu-dents. Her guidance ensures a truly enriching and authentic learning experience.

I know Damini Mam since more than 7 years now and I absolutely adore her. I have been learning and growing in kathak under her guidance and I can say that she is one of the best gurus to learn from. I would highly recommend to join her classes.

I’ve had the privilege of learning Kathak under Damini Ma’am’s guidance for over a decade, and she has been much more than just a teacher to me. Her dedication to her students, patience, and genuine love for Kathak are reflected in every class she takes. She has always believed in bringing out the best in each of us, encouraging us to grow not only as dancers but also as confident and disciplined individuals. Over the years, her guidance has shaped my journey in ways I’ll always be grateful for. If you’re looking for a teacher who truly cares about her students and teaches with both passion and heart, I can’t recommend Damini Ma’am enough.

As someone with a deep appreciation for the classical arts and the preservation of cultural heritage, I have been consistently impressed by the standard of instruction, dedication to tradition, and the nurturing environment fostered.

Damini stands out not only for its technical rigor in teaching the nuances of Kathak—including taal, laya, and storytelling—but also for its commitment to the holistic development of its students. The curriculum effectively bridges the gap between ancient artistic traditions and modern accessibility, making this profound art form reachable to students across different geographies and backgrounds.

What I particularly value about their approach is the emphasis on:

Authentic Pedagogy: The instructors demonstrate a clear mastery of the form, ensuring that students do not just learn the choreography, but understand the history, philosophy, and emotive depth (bhava) behind each movement.

Community and Inclusivity: The academy creates a supportive space that encourages students to grow not just as dancers, but as confident, disciplined, and culturally aware individuals.

Professionalism: The management of their classes, whether in-person or online, is exemplary. The use of structured training modules ensures that every student receives the attention needed to progress, regardless of their starting level.

I am one of her oldest students and my experience has been amazing. With her I have fallen in love with dance and the culture of Kathak. It has been a beautiful journey through which I have currently reached my graduation in Kathak and I’m excited to see what’s ahead
