About Cara
I’m a piano tutor with 2 years of experience mentoring advanced jazz students preparing for programs like Berklee and Juilliard. I earned a DMA in Piano Performance and am passionate about unlocking students’ creative and technical potential. Lessons focus on improvisation, jazz theory, repertoire, and expressive performance.
We work on chord extensions, scales, reharmonization, and rhythmic complexity. I guide students through jazz standards, contemporary works, and original compositions. Each lesson is designed to match the student’s goals, learning style, and musical personality. I emphasize both precision and freedom, helping students express emotion and creativity at the piano.
I also prepare students for auditions, recitals, and ensemble playing. Sight-reading, technique, and performance skills are integrated into every session. My goal is to help students achieve technical mastery while discovering their own voice. Together, we cultivate artistry, skill, and confidence in advanced jazz performance.
