About Farheen
Hi, I am Farheen and I am 24. I am from Mauritius and I moved to Australia for tertiary studies in 2019. I have graduated with a distinction (WAM 82) in the Bachelor of Forensic Science Major Chemistry at Deakin University in 2022. I am now studying the PostGraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Although, I have never been a professional tutor, I am proud to say that I have always been the tutor friend to my peers and they encouraged me to use my skills to help other people. Tutoring would be my way to give back to society.
As a young student, I have been hardworking with a thirst for knowledge. It felt nice to be the topper of the class but it felt nicer to see the friends I helped, succeed alongside me. According to them, the best way to describe me would be friendly, approachable, non-judgmental, resourceful.
Teaching feels like second nature to me and I would welcome the opportunity to showcase my skills and help a student achieve their highest aims.

My lessons are designed for students in secondary school up to HSC level. The typical length of a lesson is about one hour where the first half will be focusing on the introduction to a particular topic. The second half will be about using that acquired knowledge to attempt exam questions. Especially in maths and chemistry, questions are not always straightforward, which makes it crucial for the students to practice and be ready to tackle any problems to come their way during exams. As we all know, practice makes perfect. My goal is to provide the student with the resources and help whenever they are stuck, while also allowing them to think on their own and rectify their own mistakes by not spoonfeeding them.
Although, I have never professionally been a tutor, I am proud to say that I have always been the tutor friend to my peers whenever they needed help and they are the ones who encouraged me to use my skills to help other people out there.
