About Jonathan
I have over 5 years of experience teaching singing to school, college, and working professional students. I see singing as a beautiful journey of self-discovery. My goal is to help each student enjoy the process of learning music and develop their unique voice with confidence and skill. In our sessions, I focus on basic and advanced vocal techniques like breath control, pitch correction, and voice modulation. I teach a variety of genres including Bollywood, devotional, folk, and soft Western songs. Every lesson is designed around the student’s current level and musical interests. I also encourage regular practice and share recordings and exercises to improve faster. Whether you want to sing casually, take exams, or perform on stage, I’ll guide you step-by-step. My students love that I am patient, encouraging, and always ready to adjust the lesson to make it more enjoyable and useful. I believe in celebrating progress, no matter how small, and building a strong musical foundation.

In my teaching practice, I see singing not only as a technical discipline but as a deeply personal journey of discovery and expression. My methodology is grounded in three essential elements: vocal health, artistic growth, and emotional connection. I work with students to build a sustainable vocal technique that supports long-term growth, freedom of expression, and consistency.
We start by exploring the body as an instrument—focusing on posture, breath mechanics, and vocal fold coordination. I help students release tension, engage diaphragmatic breathing, and find their natural voice placement. From there, we explore the registers, resonance spaces, and how to move fluidly between them. I tailor vocal exercises to suit each voice, age, and goal—whether the student is a beginner trying to match pitch or an advanced vocalist preparing for studio work or auditions.
Every session includes both technique and music, often working on songs selected to challenge and inspire the student. Artistic growth is cultivated through phrasing work, dynamics, and stylistic interpretation. I guide students in identifying the emotional core of a song and connecting it to their own experiences. Whether we’re singing pop, musical theatre, R&B, or indie folk, we explore what the lyrics mean and how to tell that story with authenticity.
I also include improvisation, songwriting prompts, and performance simulations to keep the experience engaging and growth-oriented. My approach is collaborative—I treat each student as a partner in the learning process. Together, we set goals, track progress, and reflect regularly.
I also offer instruction in related areas such as beginner piano for singers, ear training, stage presence, lyric interpretation, and vocal recovery. I aim to make my lessons a place where students feel empowered, heard, and supported—not just as singers, but as evolving artists.
