About Lindsay
In my 15 years as an educator, I have worked as a university professor, classroom teacher in K-12 settings, and private instructor, as well as maintaining a performance career. I earned my Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Southern California, where I focused on flute performance, orchestral conducting, theory and analysis, and music teaching and learning (focusing on psychology and philosophy for music education). Previous to this, I lived and worked in the UK for 10 years, where I studied at the prestigious Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, and had the great privilege to study under two of the most influential flutists of modern time - William Bennett and Trevor Wye. When you study with me, you are one degree of separation away from some of the greatest musicians, conductors, and music academics today!

In my lessons, we focus on the fundamentals of music making as the groundwork for all repertoire to be played. Each student works at a different pace and learns in another way, so I always adjust my lessons to best suit the individual I'm working with. I teach all genres, from baroque to contemporary and jazz. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics or a professional seeking coaching for orchestra excerpts or in preparation for performances, I'm the one for you!
