About Andressa
I am a doctor and master in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), graduated in Law from the Centro Universitário Ritter dos Reis (UNIRITTER), and a social scientist graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). For 11 years I have been conducting ethnographic research investigating phenomena related to the state, market, consumption and digital technologies. My master's thesis addressed the relations between the Porto Alegre camelódromo and the State, as well as the dynamics and commercial strategies developed in such a space. In my doctoral thesis, I explored the dynamics of entertainment production and distribution based on the relationships between streaming platforms and digital piracy. I analyzed the behavior of the market (legal and illegal), as well as the habits, perceptions, and values of several consumers of streaming and piracy services to understand the arrangements of the distribution of entertainment today.

My classes are addressed to a wide audience, from beginners and interested in the disciplines of Anthropology and Sociology, to undergraduate and graduate students. I align my classes with the methodological interests of the students, but, in general, I structure the most important subjects and notions and present them as a basis for understanding the classes.
