About Ty
As a current doctoral student with a strong background in the health sciences, I am passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. My tutoring approach focuses on developing a deep understanding of concepts rather than relying solely on memorization, allowing students to apply their knowledge effectively on exams and in future coursework. I create a professional, supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. By combining proven study techniques, active recall, practice questions, and real-world applications, I help students improve both their understanding and their academic performance. Whether you are a high school student, undergraduate, or preparing for a healthcare career, I am committed to providing reliable guidance, clear explanations, and personalized support throughout your learning journey.

My approach as a tutor is to help students truly understand concepts rather than simply memorize facts. I create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenging material at their own pace. A typical lesson begins by identifying areas of difficulty, followed by reviewing key concepts, working through practice questions, and applying the material to real-world or clinical scenarios when appropriate. I use active recall, concept mapping, and problem-solving techniques to improve retention and critical thinking. As a current doctoral student, I understand the demands of rigorous science and healthcare coursework and can share effective study strategies that have helped me succeed. My tutoring is well-suited for high school, undergraduate, pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, and nursing students, particularly in subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biology, pathophysiology, and other health sciences.
