About Mary
I am a current doctoral student and instructor at Louisiana State University in the Communication department. I previously taught Communication Studies at my alma mater California State University, Long Beach, where I received my Masters degree in Communication Studies. I am passionate about the study of human communication and helping people to become better communicators overall. I have taught other subjects in the Communication discipline, but primarily have taught public speaking for the past 6 years.

Public speaking is part of the core course requirements for most universities. Public speaking can be terrifying for some but is an important skill and can help people excel in areas such as speaking in public places, organization, time management, preparation, and self confidence. My teaching style is skills based combined with practice. These lessons are for students or anyone interested in enhancing their public speaking skills.
